Former PM Hariri suggests roadmap to protect Lebanon
“The Lebanese need a roadmap which prioritizes national interest and stability,” Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri said on Friday in a speech during the movement's annual Iftar.

“The roadmap stipulates the following steps: the election of a new president, the formation of a new government, the implementation of a comprehensive plan to address terrorism and the withdrawal of Hezbollah from Syria,” Hariri said.

The former Prime Minister also voiced rejection to the potential extension of the Parliament’s mandate, noting that the election of a new head of state is a prelude to the parliamentary elections.

Separately, Hariri highlighted the need to agree on an emergency plan to deal with the rising influx of Syrian refugees into the Lebanese territories.
