Sayyed Khamenei's office declares Tuesday as first day of Eid al-Fitr

The Office of Sayyed Khamenei's official representative in Lebanon announced on Sunday that Monday is the last day of Ramadan, and Tuesday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and having sex from dawn until sunset.

Ramadan is sacred to Muslims because it is during this month that it is believed that the Koran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed.
