Education Minister freezes decision to issue certificates, reassures UCC’s demands are righteous
Education Minister Elias Bou Saab reassured on Tuesday that the demands of the Union Coordinating Committee are righteous, adding that the UCC works for the benefit and interest of all students.

Bou Saab stated that what happened at the ministry is unfortunate, emphasizing that there are different viewpoints among instructors.

“Some teachers want to correct official exams, while others want to continue with the boycott. I will not accept divisions,” Bou Saab stressed.

After meeting a delegation from the UCC, Minister Bou Saab stated that common grounds may be reached via dialogue, adding that he decided to refrain from issuing certificates for students who sat for official exams.

He also emphasized that he will freeze the decision until the end of the week at the request of the UCC.
