MP Hachem says Lebanese captives dossier should be addressed with caution, accuracy

Liberation and Development bloc MP Qassem Hachem said on Monday that the Lebanese captives dossier should be addressed now with more caution and accuracy.

"Exchanging kidnapped troops with Islamist prisoners undermines state authority," Hachem said in an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV show.

"A decision over a potential swap operation has not been taken thus far," he said, noting that this issue will entail negative and dangerous repercussions on the Lebanese state.

"There is a price to pay for the comeback of soldiers who became a symbol of a national cause," Hachem said, adding that Hezbollah's role complements that of the Lebanese army in the fight against terrorist groups along the Syrian border.
