Hezbollah official says some groups are tarnishing the image of Islam

Hezbollah official Sayyed Ibrahim Amin al-Sayyed said on Monday that the current circumstances are "tough and complicated" on the local, regional and international levels.

Sayyed's statements were made following a meeting between a Hezbollah delegation and Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Daryan.

"The need to consolidate unity among the Lebanese, Arabs and Muslims has been agreed upon," Sayyed said.

"Some groups among the Islamic community are tarnishing the image of Islam," he added, noting that the Arab and Islamic communities are longing to see major regional powers resorting to dialogue and understanding in resolving their disputes.
