Gunmen open fire at two military patrols in Lebanon's Tripoli

"Gunmen opened fire at dawn on Friday at two army patrols in al-Bisar area in the northern city of Tripoli and hurled a hand grenade at a military post," the Lebanese Army Command said, noting that no casualties were reported.

The Army Command also said Lebanese Armed Forces troops responded to sources of fire, adding that the assailants are being chased.

In a similar incident, a soldier was killed today in the Akkar region of al-Bireh when assailants opened fire at a military bus transporting troops to their duty stations.
