Nasrallah meets Moqbel over Iranian grant to the Lebanese army

Sources told As-Safir newspaper on Wednesday that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah tackled with Minister of Defense Samir Moqbel the Iranian grant to the Lebanese army during their latest meeting.

The same sources added that they also held talks over the battle against terrorism and the role of the Lebanese Armed Forces during this particular phase.

According to the daily, Nasrallah reiterated to Moqbel Hezbollah's support to the military institution and its efforts in addressing terrorism.

Nasrallah also hailed the efforts deployed by the security apparatuses in safeguarding Lebanon's stability and pursuing fugitives.

Interior Minister Machnouq says security apparatuses are fully ready to address all scenarios

Minister of Interior Nohad Machnouq told As-Safir newspaper on Wednesday that information made available to him show that the year ahead will be very difficult in Syria and Iraq which will have direct repercussions on Lebanon.

Machnouq also stressed that Lebanon and its security apparatuses are fully ready to address all scenarios.

According to the daily, Machnouq noted that the testimonies of some Lebanese officials in the Special Tribunal for Lebanon will have direct repercussions on the security situation in the country.

Kahwagi says Betdei's crimes will not remain without punishment- military source

Military source quoted Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Kahwagi as saying on Wednesday that Btedei's crime will not remain without punishment.

The same source told al-Joumhouria newspaper that the Lebanese army is keen on preserving peace and stability in the Bekaa valley, mainly after the army's achievements in the region.

According to the daily, the source stressed that no political cover can protect the criminals, mainly after the crime was met with huge dismay from Deir al-Ahmar's residents.

UAE to appoint a new ambassador to Lebanon-sources

Prime Minister Tammam Salam told al-Mustaqbal newspaper on Wednesday that his last visit to the United Arab Emirates was "positive."

Salam also noted that such a visit will have a direct positive impact on the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Similarly, sources told al-Hayat newspaper that the authorities in the UAE will appoint a new ambassador to Lebanon in the near future to follow up on the issues that fall in the interests of both countries.
