The Lebanese Armed Forces Intelligence says it arrested Tuesday four suspects linked to Ahmad al-Assir group.
The arrestees were identified as Hisham al-Danab, Hussein D. and Ahmad A., as well as a Syrian national.
The Lebanese Army engaged in deadly clashes with Assir’s armed supporters in June (2013) where the fighting left at least 18 soldiers and 28 gunmen dead.
Assir and dozens of his supporters have been charged with attempted murder and inciting sectarian strife.
The 45-year-old preacher along with a group of his supporters remain at large.
