General Security leader Ibrahim says security apparatuses averting crises
General Security chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim stressed on Friday that the security apparatuses in Lebanon are seeking to prevent crises “despite the complicated and difficult situation overtaking the country.”

“The role played by security forces prevented Lebanon from falling into civil strife and terrorism,” Ibrahim said in his editorial in General Security magazine published on Friday.

He pointed out that the General Security has become an integral part of the country's security, noting that “we have no other choice but confrontation whatever the sacrifices may be.”

The army and security forces have been raiding in recent months various regions across Lebanon in search of wanted fugitives and suspected terrorists.

Lebanese troops have been battling Syria-based Islamic militants, including the extremist Islamic State group and the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front, in areas near the border.
