Army thwarts attempt to infiltrate into LAF positions in Ras Baalbek’s barren range

The Lebanese Armed Forces thwarted late on Sunday an attempt by gunmen to infiltrate into military positions between Ras Baalbek’s Sarj al-Debes region and Wadi Rafeq in Al-Qaa’s barren range, the state-run National News Agency reported on Monday.

“Fierce clashes were reported and heavy artillery was used in the Northern Bekaa,” the agency said, noting that the army used flare bombs due to the density of the fog.

The NNA added that airborne regiment units intervened to repel the attack, leading to the withdrawal of militants.
