Mufti Daryan: Killing in the name of religion is “a catastrophe”

Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Daryan delivered on Friday a speech on the occasion of the birth of Prophet Mohammed.

In his speech, Mufti Daryan stressed the need to have “the required awareness” to remain united, adding that Lebanon is suffering from various wounds.

He also noted that killing in the name of religion is “a catastrophe,” citing the political oppression as the first cause of chaos.

He stressed that the country and its political system are threatened due to the political disputes.

Mufti Daryan concluded by calling on "enemies" to abide by the principles of justice to end strife.
