[PHOTOS] Three attempts to smuggle drugs into Lebanon thwarted at Beirut Airport

Customs agents at the Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport on Sunday thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs into the Lebanese territories, in the third such operation within 24 hours, the state-run National News Agency reported.

In the details, customs agents detained a 50-year-old Egyptian coming from Cairo at dawn on Sunday around 1:30 am, after finding 2,050 red-colored pills inside two icons made of wood, the agency said.

The narcotic pills weigh around 650 grams, NNA noted, saying “the customs agents then arrested the Egyptian man who was referred to the Central Anti-drugs Bureau for further investigations”.
