A cabinet session convened Monday evening under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam at the Grand Serail, in order to discuss the file pertaining to solid waste management and the security situation in the country, in light of the terrorist attack that hit the region of Jabal Mohsen in the northern city of Tripoli on Saturday and the security operation implemented in Roumieh prison Monday.
Prior to the session, Agriculture Minister Akram Chouhayeb stressed that “today’s session must lead to a solution in the case of waste management,” ruling out the possibility for an extension of the contract related to the mandate of the al-Naameh landfill.
For his part, Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi noted that referring the case of the Jabal Mohsen attack to the judicial council requires apt filing, pointing out that he requested the concerned authorities to prepare the case.
