Lebanon's Grand Mufti meets Qatar’s Kuwari, warns against Israeli threat

Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian held on Monday a meeting with Qatar's Minister for endowments and Islamic affairs Ghaith Bin Mubarak Al-Kuwari in Doha.

Mufti Derian briefed Dr. Kuwari on the Lebanese situation in general and the Islamic affairs in particular as well as Dar al-Fatwa's role in raising religious awareness.

"Dar al-Fatwa is adamant on strengthening the Islamic unity between Sunnis and Shi’ites and national unity between Muslims and Christians," the Lebanese Mufti said.

“Work is ongoing to roll back strife while honoring the state sovereignty and constitutional institutions,” he added.

Mufti Derian also warned against the Israeli threat “that is violating the Lebanese sovereignty and aims to terrorize innocent people in border regions”.
