Lebanese Forces Chief Samir Geagea said Wednesday that no agreement was reached during the dialogue held with the Free Patriotic Movement over matters related to the issue of the presidency, noting that the only reason behind the failure of electing a new president is the boycott practiced by some parliamentary blocs.
During a press conference, Geagea pointed out that the events taking place at the border region after Hezbollah targeted an Israeli military convoy earlier today prove that Hezbollah has been widening its regional projects against the Lebanese state, holding the Shiite party responsible for the repercussions of this attack.
On another note, the LF chief reiterated his objection to any cooperation with the "army of Syrian President Bashar Assad, since this army does not represent all the Syrian people,” stressing that he does not intend to interfere in the Syrian war.
On the issue of the cement factory project in Zahle, Geagea said that he contacted all the concerned parties, in a bid to convince Industry Minister Hussein Hajj Hassan to annul the license granted for this plan, adding that no result has yet been reached in this regard.
