Education Minister Elias Bou Saab stressed Thursday that the Lebanese University’s crisis is not limited to the appointment of directors, but reaches the performance of the university’s council, confirming that the issues between the deans are not affected by political interventions.
He pointed out that the Education Ministry has been receiving complaints concerning the work of the university’s council.
In an interview with VDL radio station, Bou Saab stressed that the prerogatives pertaining to the appointment of directors are vested in the president of the university, noting that the education minister is not concerned with this task.
The minister stressed that the concerned parties are working on resolving the issue; otherwise, the case will be referred to the cabinet.
