March 14 coalition establishes national council on 10th anniversary

March 14 Secretary General Fares Souaid announced during Saturday’s conference marking the 10th anniversary of the coalition, that the camp’s national council has been established.

For his part, Future bloc leader MP Fouad Siniora said, during his speech, that “the establishment of the council constitutes a new dynamic that will limit the effects of violence”.

“The March 14 coalition doesn’t want to defeat anyone,” Siniora noted, saying “we want that everyone returns to the state, not under preconditions, but according to the Constitution, and this should start through the election of a president”.

He also lamented the fact that the Lebanese state is no longer capable of reviving the work of its institutions, voicing his regret over the wave of terrorism that has taken its toll on the country.

In this regard, Siniora called for solidarity in order to curb violence, stressing the need to fully abide by international resolutions.
