Member of the Lebanese Forces bloc MP Antoine Zahra commented Friday on the contempt case raised against Lebanese broadcaster al-Jadeed TV at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, stressing “his rejection to the exploitation of the media in a bid to cross boundaries.”
“Anyone who doubts the credibility of the tribunal is contributing to the obstruction of the path towards truth,” he added.
In his statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, MP Zahra explained that “the Lebanese Judiciary is represented at the STL through Lebanese judges,” noting that “al-Jadeed TV is on trial for exposing the identities of witnesses who were meant to remain anonymous.”
“If there were any chance that the Lebanese or Arab judiciaries reach a result in the case of former PM Rafiq Hariri’s murder, the Lebanese authorities wouldn't have resorted to an international tribunal,” he added.
