Lebanon’s renowned casino had previously issued an administrative decision to lay off 191 employees, triggering demonstrations outside the establishment.
CDL’s administration said it was seeking to resolve accumulating financial and administrative woes and ensuing changes would necessitate a temporary halt in salary raises and promotions and would also urge strict monitoring of production and efficiency.
As per the aforementioned decision, the administration announced that it would nullify the contracts of 191 employees who are “absent [from work], undisciplined, unorganized and unproductive.”
