LBCI, other TV channels set new broadcasting rules

Starting today, all those willing to watch the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI) with the blue logo will have to subscribe to the services of Cable Vision, or Econet, or via the Lebanese Diaspora Corporation (LDC).

The 8 Lebanese TV channels; Tele Liban, Future TV, LBCI, NBN, Al-Jadeed, Al-Manar, OTV, and MTV, stressed that any attempt by cable providers to broadcast or rebroadcast any of their programs, prior to or after this declaration, is a breach to laws 382 and 75 and a violation to the circular issued last month by Economy Minister Alain Hakim.

The TV channels announced that those who seek to rerun their programs may contact lawyer Wassim Mansouri’s office, between the 1st of May and the 1st of June, to sign official documents that grant them aforementioned broadcast rights.

The channels explained that cable providers will have to pay 4 dollars for each subscriber, adding that those who sign these documents within the mentioned delay will be made exempt from previous violations.

For subscriptions please call:

Cablevision: 01-203040

Econet Beirut: 01-500009 or 01-810000

Econet Bekaa: 08-801336 or 08-805336
