MP Nadim Gemayel to LBCI: I fully reject waste dumping in Beirut river
MP Nadim Gemayel said on Tuesday that a decision was taken to take transport garbage gathered in Ashrafieh’s streets to an isolated location.

He also noted that his top priority is the Lebanese citizen’s interest and health.

Gemayel’s comments were made during a phone call with Nharkom Said TV show whereby he stressed that he fully rejects the dumping of any waste material in Beirut river.

On Monday, undercover activists videotaped waste collecting trucks disposing garbage in the Beirut River and in a parking lot in Sin el-Fil.

The following morning, cabinet announced that it would be postponing its session to discuss the pending dossier until Thursday.

Meanwhile protests are underway in the country's capital where civil society activists are denouncing the cabinets failure to properly address the waste management crisis dossier.
