The Maronite Bishops Council voiced on Wednesday fears over the ongoing presidential vacuum, saying “the situation has reached a stage that portends the fall of the Republic." In their periodic meeting, the Bishops urged the rival parties to submit their presidential candidates and carry out the presidential elections. They also called all officials to differentiate between their narrow interests and to put the country’s greater good on top of their priorities. On another note, the Bishops noted that the deal between Iran and the International powers proved the necessity of dialogue that positively impacts all sides.
