Murder charges pressed against suspects in killing of LAF Lt Colonel Kahil

State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr charged on Thursday two persons suspected of murdering LAF Lt Colonel Kahil Rabih Kahil.

The suspects were identified as Hisham and Elie Daou who were charged in the case.

Saqr then referred the case to the concerned military examining magistrate.

Kahil died in hospital last week after succumbing to wounds sustained in a shooting in Bdadoun.

A statement issued by the Lebanese Armed Forces Command said Kahil was “shot by a criminal as he was passing in the Bdadoun region.”

According to his family, he was heading to his house in the nearby Aley District town of al-Qmatiyeh when the shooting took place.

The dispute erupted after the two men asked Kahil to leave the area, although he identified himself as an army officer.

A fistfight followed before one of the men, Hisham Daou, shot Kahil from a weapon equipped with a silencer.
