FPM leader MP Aoun urges supporters to demonstrate on Wednesday
Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun said on Tuesday that a new electoral law must be drafted before holding the presidential elections.

Aoun’s comments came following the weekly meeting of Change and Reform bloc whereby he noted that soldiers of the Lebanese army “are like my sons,” adding that the performance of the cabinet jeopardizes the army’s prestige.

He also noted that former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri's assassination did not liberate Lebanon, stressing that he worked for independence in 2004 in coordination with world powers.

“I delivered a speech in Paris and called on the Lebanese people to meet outside Lebanon to discuss the status of the Syrian forces' withdrawal from Lebanon,” he noted.

On another note, Aoun called on his supporters to take to the streets on Wednesday to protest what he said was the government's marginalization of the Christian community's rights.

"Nothing will stop us from reaching our goals, and everyone is invited to demonstrate tomorrow," Aoun added.
