Mahfoud to LBCI: Level of public education in Lebanon is deteriorating

Head of the Private Schools Teachers Association Nehme Mahfoud stated on Friday that teachers, employees, as well as citizens who have a limited income are all taking part in movements of the civil society.

Mahfoud told LBCI’s Nharkom Said that the level of public education in Lebanon is deteriorating, stressing that the registration of 100 thousand Syrian students in Lebanese schools had a negative impact on the level.

In this regard, Mahfoud stressed that funds should be allocated to support teachers of public schools, adding that the priority should be for Lebanese parents and students.

He also noted that enhancing public schools commences when politicians lift their hands from these schools, emphasizing that the prosperity of public schools will eventually lead to a decrease in the tuition fees at private schools.
