Activists' lawyers receive response to request to remove barbed wires in downtown Beirut
Civil society activists lawyers received on Friday a response to their request to have all the barbed wire and cement barriers be removed from the roads leading to the al-Nejmeh square, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The response of the Ministry of Interior said that the barbed wire did not hinder the ongoing protests, but rather organized the roads where the protests would be taking place.
The statement also noted that the ministry respects all freedoms, including the freedom of staging protests.
