A double suicide attack hit on Thursday Beirut’s southern suburb, triggering a chain of reactions condemning the terrorist attack that left more than 41 martyrs and 180 injured.
Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq posted a remark on his Twitter account, stressing that “he will not hesitate in pursuing the criminals, wherever they are.”
In turn, former Prime Minister Saad Hariri denounced “the terrorist attack that hit Bourj al-Barajneh,” stressing that targeting innocent civilians is “a sordid and unjustified act.”
For his part, Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil said that the attack on Beirut southern suburb urges all politicians to unite against terrorism.
Telecommunications Minister Boutros Harb called for “a national rescue stance that aims at restoring the efficiency of the institutions in fortifying Lebanon against such plots,” condemning any act that kills innocent civilians.
MP Michel Aoun asked: “How many explosions should take place in order for everyone to be convinced that Takfirist terrorism should be eradicated?”
For his part, Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil denounced the twin blasts that hit Beirut’s Bourj al-Barajneh, considering that these criminal operations are moving from one country to another.
In this regard, Amal Movement decried the bombings, urging the Lebanese to enhance their unity and to rally around the Lebanese army and the security forces.
For his Part, Marada Party leader MP Sleiman Frangieh said that “even condemnation is not useful anymore, may God save this country from terrorism.”
