PM Salam calls on leaders “to be humble” and activate the Cabinet work

Prime Minister Tammam Salam praised on Thursday the Lebanese solidarity following the twin-suicide blasts that rocked a neighborhood in southern Beirut.

Salam’s comments were made during the Annual Arab Banking Conference whereby he called calling on Lebanese rivals to “be humble, communicate and reach a common ground in a manner that could activate the Cabinet work and serve the interests of the Lebanese people.”

“It is high time for us to put an end for the current malfunction and revive the political life as we wait for a settlement to lead to the election of a president.”

Regarding Lebanon’s economic situation, Salam praised the efforts deployed by businessmen and Lebanon’s Central Bank to preserve the country’s financial market.

For his part, Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh addressed conferees by emphasizing the Lebanese currency stability despite all rumors.
