Lawyers of the Tripoli Bar Association held a strike during the day in protest of a recent decision to appoint a legal guardian to oversee exam results for entry into the body.
Beirut lawyers also refrained from attending trial sessions in solidarity with their colleagues.
Samaha, who was arrested on August 9, 2012, has been previously convicted of plotting to carry out acts of terrorism and was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
