The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces issued a statement on Friday whereby it declared that “following investigations into the case of George Faddoul’s murder, whose body was found inside the trunk of a vehicle in Adonis, the Information branch managed to arrest the suspect in the region of Bar Elias, while he was attempting to flee to Syria." He was identified by his initials as 24-year-old Syrian national A. D.
The statement added that following interrogations with the suspect, he admitted to killing Faddoul after repeatedly stabbing him with a knife after financial disputes erupted between the two. He also confessed that other Syrian nationals helped him, and were identified as A. A. (born in 1988), M. A. (born in 1997), N. A. (born in 2000) and A. D. (born in 1988).
The ISF statement said that all the suspected were arrested, noting that investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the concerned judiciary.
