Lebanon is not part of an alliance that includes states that back "takfiri terrorism," Deputy Head of Hezbollah's executive council Sheikh Nabil Qaouk said on Saturday.

"The best means to fight takfiri terrorism is to put an end to the Saudi backing of terror groups in Syria, Iraq and Yemen," he said during a Hezbollah ceremony in the town of Zawtar Sharqieh in the district of Nabatieh.

He blasted Saudi Arabia' alleged support of the groups, stressing that "once Saudi Arabia decides to stop supporting the various gangs, there will be no need to form an Islamic or Arab coalition to address the takfiri threats."

Saudi Arabia declared on Tuesday the formation of a 34-nation Arab and Islamic anti-terror alliance that includes Lebanon, with a joint operations center based in Riyadh.

"The Lebanon that conquered the takfiri and Israeli hostility is not part of an alliance that embraces countries that support takfiri terrorism," Qaouk said.
