Abboud to LBC: Raw over electricity plan is political

Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud said that the raw over the electricity plan has no technical ground rather it is purely political, adding that the emergency plan will curb losses.

Abboud told Nharkom Said TV show that all expenditures related to the electricity plan fall under the control of the Finance Ministry and is subjected to the cabinet’s decision.

“The Cabinet is losing $ 5 million every day and we can no longer depend on the financial help of Arab countries”, Abboud added.

Abboud highlighted the importance of passing the electricity plan, saying that the production of electricity was only one part of the plan the other is building an electricity plant.

Speaking on the possibility of Change and Reform bloc ministers’ resignation in case the electricity plan is not adopted, Abboud said: “The Lebanese should know who is really hindering the production of electricity”. 

Abboud said that the electricity raw showed that the cabinet is not, as some would make it out to be, a one-party government.
