Does Eid al-Fitr compensate for tourism downturn

According to latest statistics, business is on the rise for Lebanese hoteliers and Beirut International Airport has seen a steady stream of travelers.

More tourists flocked to Lebanon before Eid al-Fitr, and tourism officials expected this to last for more than 10 days. They hoped this stream of tourists would compensate for the downturn the tourism sector witnessed over the past few months.

Statistics also show that Syrian, Iraqi and Jordanian tourists stay in Lebanon for about five days, while Saudi and Gulf tourists spend an average of ten days.
