Introduction to the evening news 03-05-2012

In light of a failed GLC strike felt by only a few, the Lebanese scene witnessed an unexpected race between U.S. and Iranian diplomats, with timeouts reserved for banquets for both Feltman and Vice-President Rahimi. Feltman concluded his three-day tour this evening without making any statement while the U.S. Embassy issued a brief statement that only mentioned generalities.        
As for the Iranian vice president, he held a series of meetings including with Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.   

The government used this crowd as a pretext to the cancellation of the cabinet session. However, it turned out that the session was cancelled because the consensual formula of financial files did not mature yet.     

Today, a rare Syrian-Saudi diplomatic clash rocked the Lebanese territories; in a severe statement, the Saudi ambassador responded to the Syrian ambassador’s recent statement on the arms-laden cargo ship.
