Future bloc calls on Mikati to resign immediately
The Future bloc said that the release of Shadi el-Mawlawi does not annul the fact that he was the victim of an apparent abduction by a Lebanese security apparatus, and that two sheikhs were assassinated by LAF which shocked the public opinion. The bloc said that some persons’ involvement in these incidents made the public opinion distrust these security apparatuses.

Following its meeting held on Tuesday, the bloc called for the completion of investigations into the Kwaykhat crime and its referral to the judicial council. The bloc added that al-Jaafari’s message that tried to portray Lebanon as a safe refuge for terrorists included many false allegations. “This is very surprising since, except for the comment of PM Mikati, the government did not make any step to respond to this fabricated message. The bloc also called on Mikati to resign immediately.
