Ethiopian Airlines crash report finalized

Works Minister Ghazi Aridi told reporters that the report on the Ethiopian Airlines crash off Beirut that claimed 90 lives is finalized and will be published in 60 days, giving the concerned parties enough time to gather all necessary data.

“The Lebanese authorities will take all appropriate legal and technical measures to set things on their right judicial path”, Aridi said during a press conference.

Aridi added that, in a couple of days, the investigation report will be closed and submitted to all concerned parties: American authorities, since the plane’s manufacturer is U.S. based Boeing, the Ethiopian authorities, and the French Bureau of investigation.

Speaking on the delay in the course of investigation caused by the Ethiopian parties involved, the works minister said that in case the Ethiopian airlines refused to cooperate with the investigators, the matter will be taken to court, “as it is the case in most countries in the world”.

“The report is ready and the reasons that led to the airplane’s crash are clear”, Aridi said, inviting the Ethiopian authorities to make their remarks based on the international standards and mechanisms.

“In any case, if any party or any company wishes to defend itself, it is free to do so”, Aridi said.

The Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed into the Mediterranean less than four minutes after takeoff. All 90 people aboard were killed.
