Siniora:We'll engage in the dialogue with an open heart but based on our rescue initiative

Future bloc leader MP Fouad Siniora said on Saturday that the March 14 coalition is committed to the rescue initiative handed to President Michel Suleiman, stressing that during the dialogue that will take place in Baabda, the coalition will commit to the ideas included in this initiative.      

In a press conference, Siniora said that the Lebanese Forces are committed to each and every word included in the memorandum, stressing the need to look into it seriously for the benefit of the country. “Changing the government would be the ideal solution to the deadlock”, he said.     

“We engage in the dialogue round with an open heart, but based on the rescue memorandum, on the decisions taken during the past dialogue rounds and on the issue of weapons”, Siniora said adding that March 14 does not cover the failure to cooperate with the STL.    

The March 14 delegation earlier handed President Michel Suleiman a memorandum comprising the coalition’s stances on the dialogue.              

The meeting was preceded by a meeting between Suleiman and Kataeb leader Amine Gemayel who joined the March 14 delegation following the meeting.                  

The delegation encompassed former PM Fouad Siniora, former President Amine Gemayel, his son MP Sami Gemayel, the vice president of the Lebanese Forces MP Georges  Adwan, MPs Boutros Harb, Fouad Saad, Michel Faraon, Ahmad Fatfat, Jean Ogassapian, Hadi Hbeish and Amine Wehbe.
