Adwan to LBC: Rai’s statement about Hezbollah’s arms a blow to the state

Lebanese Forces (LF) MP George Adwan said Friday that the LF holds respect for the patriarchate, highlighting the key role it played in Lebanon’s independence, the Syrian troop withdrawal and the state revival. He stated, however, that his bloc will always disassociate itself from Bkirki’s position, adding the LF stated its own position clearly and will adhere to it.

Adwan slammed on Nharkom Said tv show the position that Rai put forth from Paris, adding that “his statement justifies the presence of the extrastatal arms and deals a blow to the concept of the state".

Adwan said that the Christians’ natural role lies in protecting freedoms. “Taking sides does not serve the Christian community as a whole and drawing Christians to Syrian partisanship contravenes the historical path of Bkirki."
