Ghosn warns against profiteering in education

The Head of General Workers Union Ghassan Ghosn said that the union will not start a row with private schools owners who are turning educational institutions into profit-making enterprises.

“ Private schools are submitting impossible budgets and sky-high bills to the Ministry of Higher Education that is busy covering up for private sector’s scandals”, Ghosn said.

Ghosn held the government responsible for every increase in school and university tuitions, adding that the union had previously informed all concerned parties that it will not stand idle while the people suffer from hunger and poverty.

Ghosn urged everyone to put their words into practice or else the people will take to the streets and eventually topple the government.

“October 22nd is near”, Ghosn said, in reference to the protest that will be staged by the General Workers Union.
