Cautious calm in Ain al-Hilweh awaiting new security tension

Ain al-Hilweh camp witnessed on Wednesday cautious calm awaiting new security tension that might happen between Palestinians themselves, or between them and the Lebanese army.

The Lebanese Army check points witnessed a state of calm amid usual security measures. There was no attack by protesters reported against the army, as Palestinian authorities succeeded in controlling their residents.

The repeated incidents in Ain al-Hilweh usually affect the city of Sidon where there is a concentration of Palestinians, Shiite and Sunni, when efforts are deployed to prevent negative reactions from hitting this region.

In Al-Taamir locality in Amel camp, Palestinian sources revealed that the tension was between Hezbollah and Sheikh Ahmad al-Asir supporters. One person was injured by a knife.
