Makary: Rai is no longer a Christian umbrella

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farid Makary said Saturday that the stance of the Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai significantly contravenes the historical line of Bkerke along with the position of the Council of the Maronite Bishops.

Makary wondered: “How could His beatitude Rai be tolerant with the presence of armed mini-states and illegitimate arms?”, adding Rai has accordingly lost his role as a Christian umbrella after he antagonized through his position 70% of the Christians.

Makary voiced hope that Rai calls on the Christian leaderships to hold a meeting behind closed doors in Bkerke to discuss the Christian strategy.
