Siniora: Assad must take a bold stance and listen to his friends’ advice

Future bloc leader Fouad Siniora said that a government stemming from grudges and a desire of revenge is fruitless. “It is high time for us to learn from the past and build a nation hand by hand”, he added.

“The events in Syria fall within the Arab world’s events”, Siniora told “Acharq” radio, adding that the allegations accusing the Future bloc of smuggling weapons into Syria turned out to be a joke.

Siniora said that the Syrian people’s reform aspirations must be respected, calling on President Assad to take a bold stance and listen to his friends’ advice.

“The government has no serious will to exercise its authority over all aspects of the security situation”, Siniora said adding that the Judicial Council is “the crimes’ graveyard”.
