Nomination period in Koura elections comes to an end

The nomination period in the Koura subsidiary elections for the Orthodox seat in the Koura district has come to an end.

Interior Minister Marwan revealed the names of the six candidates on Saturday.

The two main candidates leading the race are Fadi Karam for the LF and Walid al-Azar for the SSNP. The remaining four are: Naim al-Ojaimi, John Moufarrej, Georges Mattar and Youssef al-Skaff.

The final date for nomination withdrawal is on Wednesday 4/7/2012 at 12 pm.

The Koura parliamentary seat became vacant following the death of late MP Farid Habib.

Separately, Hermel will also hold subsidiary municipal elections on 1/7/2012.
