Gemayel for transitional government in Lebanon
In a tour which took him across the Bekaa Saturday, Kataeb Chief Amin Gemayel stated that Lebanon cannot play an effective role if its sovereignty and freedom are undermined.

Following meetings with religious figures in the area Gemayel said that nothing can preserve Lebanon but its unity and overcoming trivial obstacles.

Gemayel warned of serious repercussions that can befall the country should the arms of Hezbollah remain outside the Lebanese government’s authority, adding that extra state arms expose the country to dangers in light of regional developments.

“Changing the current government also comes in the benefit of the Lebanese people” Gemayel said. He added that a transitional government that can implement the Baabda declaration is what Lebanon needs at the moment.

In a dinner organized by the Kataeb in Zahle Friday evening, Gemayel expressed his fear over Lebanon in light of increased illegal arm dispersion in the country and what he called the “weakness of the state”. He went on to add that the state of Palestinian camps along with rampant poverty will  lead to further security deterioration.
