Marouni: We will not boycott the Maronite leaderships’ meeting

MP Elie Marouni said Tuesday that the Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai has made clear, in his speech from the airport, that only sound bites were taken from his Paris speech, adding that the speech in its entirety can be taken as a reference.

Marouni told Voice of Lebanon that, just as the presidency, Bkerke is inviolable, adding the Kataeb party will not boycott the Maronite leaderships’ meeting scheduled to take place on the 23rd of this month.

Marouni added that Kataeb Party leader Amin Gemayel and other officials will meet with Rai, voicing hope that the Patriarch will rescind his statement so that the patriarchate can restore its role as a haven for all who believe in freedom, sovereignty and reform.
