Assir launches smear campaign against Berri, Nasrallah

Participants in Sheikh of the Imam Bilal Bin Rabbah Mosque Ahmad Assir’s protest staged a massive rally following Friday prayers as they marched towards Sidon’s Corniche amid tight security measures.

Assir delivered a fiery speech slandering each of Speaker Nabih Berri and Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

In his speech, Assir confirmed that “no one will be able to dissolve the rally before reaching a solution for the issue of extra state arms”.

Assir said that Nasrallah and Berri have achieved their goal by putting Sidon’s figures against him, adding that “I am the one who decides when Berri will be able to enter Sidon and when Nasrallah will be able to head for Dahiyeh”.

Assir added that the attack against his protest has political motivations and not economical as claimed by some.

“The movement staged by the affected traders serves the interest of the Speaker and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah,” he stressed.
