EU calls on Lebanon to help Syrian refugees

The EU called on the Lebanese government to help the Syrian refugees that are fleeing violence in Syria, condemning the recent border incidents.

During its meeting in Brussels, the EU Foreign Ministers Council announced that the EU welcomes the efforts exerted by the Lebanese authorities to help Syrian refugees and encourages the Lebanese government to continue shouldering its responsibilities in this regard.

The 27 EU member countries voiced readiness to continue helping Lebanon shoulder this burden, the council added.
