Introduction to the evening news 25-07-2012
Aleppo, Syria’s "second city" seems to be on the verge of getting engaged in a battle between regime forces and the opposition. On the sixth day of fighting, the preparations seem to be from both sides to settle the score.

These developments come at a time when some regions are completely out of control, and where tribal, revolutionary or elected councils are being established such as the case in Idlib.

Meanwhile, a number of border crossing points remain unrestrained, leading Turkish authorities to close three crossing points dominated by the opposition. This as Russia assumes that the fighters on the Syrian-Turkish border may be affiliated with al-Qaeda.

On the Syrian-Lebanese border, things look different. Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour waited 72 hours to meet the request of President Michel Sleiman to send a protest letter to the Syrian ambassador who rushed in handing over Lebanon a letter on Lebanese violations of the Syrian borders for five months.
