Mikati: We will not interfere in the affairs of any Arab country
PM Najib Mikati on Thursday told an audience at the Arab Conference for Banking, Industry, Tourism and Real Estate that Lebanon will not interfere in the affairs of any Arab country.

Mikati said, “The political stability and security of our sister countries is in Lebanon’s best interest”, adding “Although Lebanon is going through a rough patch, we will persevere with our economy intact.”

Mikati noted that Lebanon is an human rights pioneer and a champion for peaceful transition of power in the region, adding that he supports the Arab youth’s right to make demands and emphasized the importance of involving youth in the decision-making process.

“The state should assume the responsibility of establishing social balance and involve all political parties in the development process”, Mikati stressed.

Mikati reassured Arab investors that Lebanon is enjoying political and economic stability despite allegations to the contrary, adding that the cabinet is currently working on devising a development economic plan to stimulate Arab investment.
