The clock is ticking on STL funding

During this critical period, March 14 coalition is preparing a draft law that will allow Lebanon to live up to its financial commitment to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) in case the government fails to do so.

Sources told LBC TV station that the March 14 decision is based on its conviction that the cabinet must provide funds to cover 46% of the costs related to the STL. The sources added that March 14 expects PM Najib Mikati to be a man of his word.

LBC learned that if March 14 prepares the draft law, an ordinary session should be dedicated to look into it, stressing that they believe the parliamentary majority is still in their hands enabling them to pass the draft.
